Serious beach hunters have always known they were leaving coins and jewellery behind.

Thus, our goal was to develop a Pulse Induction metal detector which could match the sweep speed, sensitivity, and ease of an Induction Balance VLF without responding to wet salt and black sand. And detect those left-behind targets.

In the past, Pulse Induction detectors had to be swept very slowly for maximum depth, and they had very poor sensitivity in copper-nickel coins and gold. They had manual tuning, which was critical to adjust and prone to drift. Most used VCO or "fire siren" type of audio tone which changed from a low growl to a squeal when a target was detected.

The Surf PI is different.

It is the result of over eight years of research and development. We took our prototypes to the hardest to detect beaches in the country. Over and over again. Until we got it right.

User-friendly Pulse Induction

Through many seasons of actual testing, we've been able to design an easy to use detector that excels on black sand beaches. The Surf PI cuts right through even the heaviest mineralisation to find coins and jewellery at remarkable depths.

Unlike other Pulse detectors which must be swept at a crawl, you can sweep the Surf PI at any speed which is comfortable for you. From very slowly to very quickly. With no loss of sensitivity.

The Surf PI is light enough to use all day - and easy enough that even first-timers can find coins and jewellery. Designed by a verteran beach hunter with depth and sensitivity in mind. To find the good stuff other machines miss - especially in the toughest grounds! The Surf PI is capable of extreme depth on coins and jewellery in salt water and mineralised ground.
